History is a story in the making. After the Roman Empire realized that they could not stem the tide of Christianity they adopted it as the state religion. For nearly two thousand years the rise of this new religion spread throughout Europe and the Middle East. Then came the second act, the British Empire. For a while, the sun never set and God Save the Queen was the motto. The British ruled the land, the sea, and the trade. Toward the end of the 18th century a new power developed called the Industrial Revolution. People started making things. Machines, trains, planes, automobiles, electronic devices, factories, and such. Today, right now, the Fourth Paradigm Shift has already started and has shown no signs of weakness. The information age, the internet, the screens, have all but taken over. Social Media, Network News, the Internet, and your smart phone have changed everything, everything. Mega-Tech companies such a Google, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon has all but eclipsed most governments with respect to revenue. In fact, these corporations represent a new found power unlike anything in history. Never has so much money been concentrated in the hands of so few. What you hear, what you see, what you think, everything, is now being funneled through the siphon of Mega-Tech. He/she who controls this network, controls the world. Make no mistake about it. In the last five years we have witnessed entire governments fall due to this influence. Remember Libya? Remember Egypt? Syria? ...and Iran is holding onto power, barely. Last month this country, Iran, had to shut down social media in order to prevent a revolution. So, the question is this. Who controls Social Media? Mark Zuckerberg? Bill Gates? Tim Cook? Another question concerns the relationship between governments and the so-called Mega-Tech companies. Just how much influence does the U.S., the European Union, or Chinese governments have over these companies? Just who is in charge? The government? The CEOs? Today, a political spectrum inside the United States uses Network Media to control nearly 90% of what you can watch on the television. These companies own over 85% of all the local networks across the country. Not only is this not fair, it is an illegal monopoly. Just as the robber barons of the early twentieth century had to be curtailed, i.e. Standard oil, these Mega-Tech monsters must also be reigned in. Just how much power should they have? Just what should they tell you what to think? All I can say is this... This Fourth Revolution through the monopoly of controlling information is unlike anything anyone could of imagined. Google tracks my email. Facebook tracks who I talk to. Twitter lets me tweet, but remembers everything I say. As millions of young people grow up with a smartphones in their hands it remains to be seen where they will go. Will they go an become mindless minions like sheep to slaughter, become self absorbed narcissistic trolls, or will they become the most well educated, well read thinkers and leaders and build a better tomorrow. Who knows? In any case, the game is afoot. The more things change, the more things remain the same. The future will be controlled by artificial intelligence, and the powers that control A.I. will control everything. That's the way I see it, today, January 17th, 2018.
-The trumpet has sounded. It has been nearly a year since Donald Trump became the President of the United States. It has also been nearly a year since the unmitigated onslaught of biased media began its relentless attack on the Trump Administration. The Russia collusion probe, the Democratic purchase of a false dossier from a Russian spy, the personal attacks on Trump's family to include his son Baron, and the choreographed daily news network attacks on the administration are all designed to de-legitimize President Trump and his administration. Make no mistake, this deliberate bias has only one goal, to destroy the credibility of a sitting president. While the left, liberal, Democrats continue their onslaught they fail to examine the repercussions of their actions. After a landslide loss of the electoral college, after lying to the public through the so-called polls, the Democratic party has all but assured themselves as a defunct political entity. A party based on lies and deceit can not stand. Even today, as I write this column, the Democratic Party still has no platform, none. They have destroyed what little credibility they had left. Each and every day the biased networks proclaim their false agenda, their legitimacy falters. No one, not even the newscasters, believe their "self-identified" rhetoric. As Joseph Goebbels, Hitlers right-hand man, said, "tell a big enough lie and long enough, it becomes the truth." And, this seems to be the mantra of the Democratic Party. Tell a big lie, tell it all day long. And that, whether you choose to believe it or not, is the platform of the Democratic Party. However, when you own all the public broadcasting stations, as the left does, it is still no wonder that they continue to believe that they can "influence" the American public. In fact, they still do. What they fail to understand is that everyone knows it is still a lie. Yes, there still are stupid people out there and they will believe anything they see on television. But, as the last election proved, just because you think its true, its not. Hence, the public of the United States defeated Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump became president, fair and square. Even Barack Obama had to make a call to Hillary to tell her to "give it up, you lost." And that is exactly "What Happened."
Now, don't get me wrong here. I am not a fan of the Republican Party. I feel they are just as entrenched as the Democrats. What I admire about President Donald Trump is that he went against both parties, almost independent, and won the game. And, a game it is. While the two party system still licks its wounds, while Trump's style continues to irritate the establishment, just remember, Twitter still rules the roost! Trump's Twitter account is a game changer, whether you, me, or anybody likes it, is not the point. So, as the American public moves into 2018 keep an eye on the bird, tweet, tweet, tweet. That's the way I see it, today, January 8th, 2018.
