Well, after this last week it appears that the Presidential election will face off between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Not to seem overly critical, it is my personal opinion that these two individuals, collectively and individually represent where America is going. In all of my life, I have never witnessed such shenanigans. Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, you have to admit that our "present" Presidential election process borders on the insane. The media is partly to blame, but it all fairness, they are partly along for the ride. Have you noticed that both Clinton and Trump represent "moneyed" interests. One candidate is bought and sold, the other is the "moneyed" interest itself. I could write an entire sermon on Clinton, but honestly, everybody already knows her story. I personally find it boring. But Trump, now that is another matter. Not only does he not really represent the Republican Party, he is drawing votes from the Democratic Party. He has reached out to all "dis-satisfied" Americans and is asking them to vote for him. So far, it seems to being a "winning agenda." Trump is being attacked by all the die hard Republicans, McCain, Romney, Bush one and two, Ryan, you name it. On the Democratic side he is now being hit by Obama himself. Not only is Trump withstanding the onslaught of negative and collective attacks, he is becoming stronger. The more people that attack him the more votes he gets. Is that a message? Hmmm. The next big test will be in June, when the Democrats and Republicans fight among themselves for the ultimate horse race. Maybe horse race is not a proper metaphor, let's try circus, a two ring circus. On one side, a political hack with money and inside the beltway tactical advantages. On the other side, a moneyed outsider breaking the mold with unprecedented momentum that has completely shocked the political apparatchiks. That's the way I see it, today, May 7th, 2016.
