Another six American soldiers were killed in Afghanistan over the weekend. Two more are seriously wounded and are in the hospital. And the world goes on. Meanwhile, a homeless woman with a child uses her car to kill and maim over 30 people on the Strip in Las Vegas. And the world goes on. A Yazidi woman reveals her gang rape to a United Nations council, yawn. And the world goes on. Hezbollah attacks Israel from Lebanon with Katusha rockets violating a U.N. cease fire. And the world goes on. Iran launches another ballistic missile that can carry multiple nuclear warheads, the U.S. State Department and the White House ignore it. And the world goes on. The wealthiest countries in the world located in the Persian Gulf still refuse to take in even one Syrian refugee. And the world goes on. Russia threatens war with Turkey, the entire world ignores it. And the world goes on. The Obama administration admits that they have been flying in "refugees" in the middle of the night with UPS cargo freighters and nobody knows where the "refugees" are. And the world goes on. The United States says it has a "proven vetting system" for migrants...but still admits that the government did not "vet" the President of the United States. And the world goes on. After decades of rhetoric about immigration and guns there is still no policy, laws on the books are not enforced. And the world goes on. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the American political system is truly broken. And the world goes on. Down the street from where I live in the next town over a "murder suicide" takes place, and no one knows why or cares. And the world goes on. Just an observation. That's the way I see it, today, December 22nd, 2015.
I have to admit that I was apprehensive about attending another "Rocky" movie. However, Sylvester Stallone, once again, surprised me. In fact, this movie is a "knock out!" Michael Jordan, who plays Adonis Creed, did a fantastic job and made the movie "believable." I loved the movie on several levels. It was captivating and of course very "Rocky," but it worked! I also have another "take away" that might enlighten some of you. While the United States is revisiting racial drama across the board, this movie, like Blindside, shows us the true nature of Americans. While all of us come from different racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, we are all bound by the common bond of being Americans. This movie was not about race. It was about achieving goals, working with each other, and overcoming obstacles. It was about growing up, resolving anger issues in a constructive manner, and developing friendships. This movie was also about setting goals, no matter how lofty, and achieving them. It was about the American Spirit. It was about leadership. It was about a young man who wanted to walk his "own path" in his "own way." This movie worked, and it achieved its goals. I walked away with a "warm fuzzy," a renewed spirit, and a revitalized sense of hope. All is not lost in America. The country is not doomed as our media keeps portraying us. Things will and are getting better every day. Whether you are black, white, purple, gay, married or single, religious or atheist, Democrat or Republican, young or old, if you want to have a great time at the movies go see Creed. It is a great movie and you will not be disappointed. That's the way I see it, today, December 10th, 2015.
I am finding it very difficult today not to be pissed off. I honestly do not understand why America, the United States, has gone so far down the path of stupidity that now our neighbors are being slaughtered on our own streets. The Islamic Terrorist attack in Southern California two days ago should be the "last wake up call" for all Americans, period. Once again, innocent people are dead. Your next door neighbor is dead. Your girlfriend is dead. Your dad is dead. Your brother is dead. Your sister is dead. Your mom is dead. Get the point? Do you understand yet? All across the United States people are dying by the hands of Islamic extremists. Have you forgotten 9/11? What about the Boston Marathon? The Fort Hood massacre, the Chattanooga military killings. Everywhere you turn there is Islamic terrorist violence. The FBI has over 1000 open cases in every single state centered around Muslim extremists, over 1000! If you do not think your country, your life, your family are not in a "clear and present danger" then you are either delusional or just plain stupid. Just so you understand, being stupid and/or ignorant will not, I repeat, not save your life. America is at a crossroad. America is in danger. Her people are being killed, day after day, in their own backyards. The primary job of the Federal Government is to protect the lives of its citizens. If the politicians in charge can not do that they need to resign an let some one in who can. As they say, "enough is enough." Yes, very hard and uncomfortable decisions have to be made. It will not be easy. It will not be fair. However, the alternative, doing "nothing" is no longer feasible. When your own government "stutters" when they use the word Islam or terrorist, you know, deep down in your heart something is terribly wrong. Idealism does not, and has never replaced "reality." Many people are dead, again, at the hands of Muslim Islamic Terrorists and the government, through the media, is trying to convince you that everything is O.K. I am sorry to inform you, but, everything is not O.K. That's how I see it, today, December 4th, 2015.
