I am proud of our soldiers. I am proud of their willingness to go into battle. I am proud of their sacrifices. I understand that we will always need sheepdogs to protect the sheep. However, I am NOT proud of American foreign policy. There is a total lack of vision and leadership. Our country simply responds day-to-day to the news media and then they try to call it policy. When Bush attacked Afghanistan after 911, I said, "What? It was the Saudis that attacked us! We attacked the wrong country!" That is when I knew we had absolutely no concept of what we were doing overseas. My suggestion is simple. First, if ANY of the Arab-Muslim states want our protection, get out the checkbook, baby! Oh, and you have to pay up front. Also, the money is passed on to our soldiers. Hey, the Swiss were mercenaries for centuries, we can do the same. But don't, absolutely, try to convince me that some opium farmer in the hills of the Himalayas is out to get me, NONSENSE! Second, the United States withdraw from all minor conflicts. Let it burn. They don't want our help anyway and we can afford it. Take all of those mis-spent trillions of dollars and build up our own infracture. Feed the poor. House the sick. Create jobs. Educate the ignorant. Get beggars off the street. Re-build our society and strengthen it BEFORE you decide to go tell someone else how to do it. We can do a better job. That's how I see it, today, June 17th, 2014.
