Once again, Iraq makes the news. The U.S. has had two wars there. The Shia led government lost one third of their country last night to Sunni Jihadists (read Al Qaeda) which overran the northern city of Mosul. They also now control the power plant which supplies electricity to Baghdad. How many soldiers did we lose there? How many were wounded? U.S. foreign policy, which I have determined, is a simple process of stupidity, has lost all credibility. The Syrian war and lack of leadership provided by the West has now spilled over into Iraq. The Sunni-Shia conflict will continue as it has for the last 1300 years. The conflict started off as a blood feud and still continues today. I say, let them go at it. If they are always fighting against themselves, maybe, just maybe, they will leave us alone. Leave one caveat. If they attack us again...NUKE EM! My step-father always said the Middle East had a lot of glass potential. I.E., when you heat sand to a high temperature it turns to glass. Wishful thinking, and probably not realistic. I guess I won't be nominated for President in the near future, but then again...That's the way I see it today, June 11th, 2014.
