And then came President Donald Trump, hated and despised by both parties...
This writer was dumbfounded when he won. Donald Trump was surprised when he won. But since that victory (a landslide not seen since the 1930's), President Trump has managed to past the first reduction in taxes in forty years. Huge, "just huuugge." From around 37% down to 22%. FYI, Germany is still around only 18%, just sayin! In addition to that, it appears, at least for now, the 70 year old war with North Korea may be coming to a close. For the first time in history, current representatives of a sitting U.S. administration has had high level talks with the North Korean leader. One of the main talking points is turning the so-called armistice into an actual peace treaty with the ultimate goal of reunification of the Korean peninsula. Also, de-nuclearization. While you may be upset with Trumps Twitter account, his methodology, his past sexual affairs, and his New York street language, he is accomplishing what neither party, Democratic or Republican, could do in the last 50 years! And he has done it all so far after being in office for only 15 months. Whether he is re-elected or not, if he pulls off a "peace accord" with North Korea, we will all be blessed. I, personally, will then nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize! In addition to all this, President Donald Trump has asked China, Japan, and many other nations to quit screwing the U.S. when it comes to trade policy. Just last week, China backed off and restructured is auto tariffs allowing an eventual even trade with respect to manufacturing. And...more may be on the way.
From another perspective, it appears, so far, that it takes a "junk yard dog" to get things done! And, if that is what is takes, so be it. Remember when Trump said, "My red button is much bigger than yours, good luck with that!" And now, Kim Jong Un is talking. Kim also got his ass chewed out in Beijing two weeks ago by Xi Jinping, President of China. Things are looking up! The U.S. economy is heating up, people are going to work, let's hope and pray the positive momentum keeps going! And, for the icing on the cake, next month is the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem! Whoa! Hang on baby!
That's the way I see it, today, April 18th, 2018.
